Working in the sugarcane patch

Jaxson is working so HARD!!   You can see in back of Jaxson the sugarcane is very tall.  Then we have the bath tub if the kids want take a bath, there is a spot on the side where you build your fire so the water stays  warm or hot.  Caroline was feeding the goats out of her hand and our puppy decided that she likes the goat pellets.  Jaxson, Nathan, Caroline and  Harrison take a break and enjoy some sugarcane.  Jaxson and Harrison love to chew on the cane sticks, they do it all the time.  They are getting excited to help make the syrup.    I was joking about the tub, it is the kettle that they make the syrup in.  Making cane syrup is a lot of work because you have to juice the sugarcane , they have this redneck thing build up  that will juice the sugarcane, once it is juiced then you cook it.  It take between 5 and 8 hours to do a batch of syrup and I think they said it would make about 8 gallons of syrup a batch. You have to stir the syrup the whole entire time as well.  No breaks or standing in making cane syrup.

Harrison has the best job ever!!!  He gets to drive the little yard tractor around and wait (the blade has been removed), while Caroline and Jaxson pick up and load all the sugarcane it, then he has to go and unload and stack the sugarcane.  Seth is cutting the sugarcane with a cane knive that is about 28 inches long and 7 inches wide.  The kids actually had a ball working in the cane garden.  They love cane syrup and they get to help it around christmas time.

The farm house we live in

Here are some pictures of the back of the house that we live in.  One is directly from the back and one is from the side. Harrison is holding mama chicken.

The kids and all the animals.

Here are some pictures of our animals.  We have Sugar the rabbit that is going to have babies, then there is Angel, the girls are a little meaner than the boys so we left them in their cage.  Caroline and Jaxson are holding our little puppy Dixie.  She is such a fun little rascal we just love her.  Jaxson, Harrison and Caroline are holding Theadore our other rabbit, and finally Harrison and Jaxson are holding Oreo the father to Sugars babies.  These are a few of our animals, we tried to catch our pigmy goat Lily but she ran from us and was way to fast, the kids are so very afraid of the geese so we didn't even try to get close to them.  For the most part the kids love most of all the animals.

Seth and I are very proud parents today.  Our little princess Caroline that is in Kindergarten this year has 17 students in her class.  After testing and the first semester of school Caroline was the only student in her class to make the kindergarten Honor Roll.  She was given an award and a pin that is on her shirt.  She is so proud of herself but I think daddy and mommy are prouder.  Way to go sissy.  She just loves school and loves to do her work.

Gods Country and the Florida Gators

If you ask Seth he will tell you this is Gods Country and the best place on earth.  We took the kids to the season opener game On August 29th 2008 against Hawaii. The game was a blast.  Caroline asked me if Tim Tebow was married and I told her NO he is not but he is way to old for her anyway.  The Gators are doing so awesome this year we hope things go in their favor and they will play for the National Championship Game.  Every other team is just total Gator Bait when they go up against the Florida Gators.  Go Gators.  The game we attended there was 91,000 thousand people there.
